- Transitions to Hydrogen -
In partnership with the Hawaii State Energy Office, HCATT, the USGBC, and Hawaii Gas, we will be bringing together Hydrogen engineers, planners, managers, policy makers, and manufacturers from Hawaii and all over the world. Our intent is to also invite Hawaii students so that a new generation (let’s call them “Generation H”) can participate in the Hydrogen Festival learn about the promise that Hydrogen offers to free the world from the use of fossil fuels
In 1990, Mercedes Benz sent a prototype Hydrogen car to Hawaii for theWorld Hydrogen Energy Conference. In 2019 we have Toyota Mirai Hydrogen cars being offered for every day use in Hawaii. We have operating Hydrogen buses at Hickam Air Force base and ideas to use Hydrogen gas made from fuel cells- running on methane or biogas - for use by electric utilities. On the US Mainland and in many foreign countries Hydrogen is used in industrial ware houses for forklifts, for heavy equipment, and for trucks. What was once in the realm of science fiction is being rapidly integrated into the fabric of daily life in Hawaii and elsewhere.
Hawaii is making the transition to Hydrogen!
